MO (Mobile Originated)
Mobile Originating messages are SMS messages sent from a mobile device by the end user (MSISDN) to a shortcode in the A2P business used by a content provider, or to another end user (P2P business). The end user who sends the message will pay the cost of the message to their operator at the agreed rates according to the end user's tariff or price plan. If the message is sent to a shortcode, there may be an additional cost depending on whether or not the shortcode is defined as a premium MO and this will be detailed in the terms and conditions provided by the content provider.
This routing provides a feature whereby confirmation is given that the SMS has been delivered to the destination handset.
A form of advertising that is communicated to the consumer/target via a handset. This type of advertising is most commonly seen as a Mobile Web Banner (top of page), Mobile Web Poster (bottom of page banner), and full screen interstitial, which appears while a requested mobile web page is “loading.” Other forms of this type of advertising are SMS and MMS ads, mobile gaming ads, and mobile video ads (pre, mid and post roll).

Mobile Marketing Association (MMA)
The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) is the premier global non-profit trade association established to lead the growth of mobile marketing and its associated technologies. Mobile Station International ISDN Number

A consumer that enters into an agreement with a Carrier. Once executed, the agreement requires the Carrier to provide wireless telecommunications services to the consumer.
Mobile Station International ISDN Number - also referred to as Mobile Subscriber ISDN Number and Mobile International ISDN Number. A MSISDN uniquely identifies a wireless device within a wireless carrier’s network. The MSISDN is dialed from other wireless or wireline networks to direct a signal to a specific wireless device. MSISDNs can be electronically checked to help prevent fraud.
MT (Mobile Terminated)
Mobile Terminating messages are messages sent by an application, to the end-user (MSISDN) usually from the content provider, who is providing the product or service in the A2P part of the business.
The software that makes sure that the MT messages are sent using the right connection and are converted into the right connection format.
Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)
The ability to send messages using a combination of text, sounds, images and video to MMS capable handsets. Similar to SMS, MMS is a store and forward method of transmitting graphics, video clips, sound files and short text messages over wireless networks using the WAP protocol. Carriers deploy special servers, dubbed MMS Centers (MMSCs) to implement the offerings on their systems. MMS also supports e-mail addressing, so the device can send e-mails directly to an e-mail address. The most common use of MMS is for communication between mobile phones. Also referred to as MMS.
Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC)
A device that provides MMS communications to wireless networks. Also referred to as MMSC.
